 Apple Tree Cottage is set on a hillside location, above the village and so enjoys good views from the rear windows over the slopes of Wansfell Pike and is within easy walking distance to sample all that Ambleside has to offer, yet far enough away to enjoy quiet times after a busy day.

 Nestling at the foot of Wansfell, Appletree Cottage has been sympathetically and tastefully renovated maintaining it's Lakeland charm. A bespoke country dining kitchen with granite work surfaces, cosy lounge with all important  open fire, stylish shower room and bedrooms all enhance the cottage's character.Thoughtful finishing touches provide 4* comfort.

There is a south facing enclosed cottage garden, with excellent views, a slate bench, garden furniture and BBQ, a must for alfresco dining.

Appletree Cottage, perfect for a relaxing Lakeland holiday at any time of year. (Please note the staircase is not suitable for the infirm).

Bedroom 2: Bunk bedroom (Full size beds).

Shower room: With shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.

Facilities

All gas, electric and bed linen provided. Cot available.  Initial supply of coal provided.

Miscellaneous

Lawned and patio South facing garden with BBQ and furniture provided. On street parking.  This property will accept one well behaved small dog only.

About the local area

Located right in the centre of the Lake District at the head of Lake Windermere, Ambleside is surrounded by beautiful scenery. This bustling, busy market town offers visitors numerous shops, cosy pubs and plenty of places to eat out.

Ambleside has easy access to the surrounding fells and mountains and is an excellent base from which to tour the Lake District. A short walk from the town centre is Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70ft waterfall and to the southeast is Jenkins Crag (730ft), with its great views of Ambleside and the surrounding hills. Well worth a visit is Stagshaw Garden, a woodland garden with lovely floral displays set on a steep hillside overlooking Lake Windermere. From the garden walks lead through Skelghyll Woods to the fells beyond.

For the less energetic, there are strolls along the shore of Lake Windermere, boat trips down the lake and back, or maybe just potter around the many outdoor shops, craft shops and galleries before a good pub lunch.
