On the northern side of the lake, a short walk from the lake shore you can find one of the Lake Districts most stunning and famous waterfalls. The 70 foot waterfall is located underneath a small stone footbridge with stunning landscaped gardens surrounding the river. In the 1780’s the family that lived in Greystoke Castle owned this land and landscaped it to provide these brilliant paths and bridges surrounded with lovely ornamental trees and plants. The land is now owned by the National Trust, you can park in their car park at the bottom of the paths near the café before you explore this divine area.
